The Declaration of Independence
When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness….
We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
The Declaration of Restoration
The course of human events since the early days of the Twentieth Century has made it necessary in this generation for the American people to rise up and re-anchor our political foundation in the laws of nature and of nature’s God, as He entitles us to do. We therefore firmly reassert the truths our Founders rightly held self-evident: that all men are created equal, that we are endowed by Our Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The government that the Founders instituted for us derived its just powers from the consent of the governed, but because the present form of government has assumed tyrannical powers we did not grant to it, and no longer acknowledges dependence upon God, it is our right and duty to alter it, reestablishing its foundational principles and reorganizing its powers to restore the God-honoring, limited constitutionalist Republic the Founders bequeathed to us.
To those just and necessary ends, therefore, we citizens of the United States of America, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of this nation, solemnly publish this Declaration. For the cause of its enactment, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

The Black Robed Regiment and the 2021 Army of the Republic
Who are the Black Robed Regiment? We are Christian clergy who recognize our heritage as spiritual/military leaders during the Revolutionary War era when America was founded, and our corresponding present-day duty to be pro-active stewards of civil government and culture.
We are men who are awakened to the reality that this nation, which aspired from its first breath to be the world’s Shining City on a Hill, now teeters on the edge of a precipice over a dark chasm of Atheistic Socialism. And, to the urgent task of preserving and restoring the Christian republic our founders bequeathed to us, “we pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”
A ‘Regiment’ not of Enlisted Men, but of Officers: Not Weaklings but Warriors.
Every Black Robed pastor enters today’s Army of the Republic as a Colonel. Every Bishop enters as a General. It falls to each of us to raise our own troops to serve under our command in the work of rescuing the nation from the Tyranny of the Godless.
The Revolutionary Remnant Regiment is Dr. Lively’s own model for organizing. Both clergy and lay persons may join the RRR.
As Clergy, each of us is Separately Empowered to Arm Ourselves with the Redemptive Weaponry of the Bible and to Wage Spiritual and Cultural War to Destroy the Fortresses of Darkness and Rescue their Captives.
This is work for true men who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ nor intimidated by the condemnation and ridicule of the world. Our example will embolden others to follow.
We Pursue a Simple Strategy for Compound Victories: “Flip One to Win Two” (a concept normally associated with voting in two party elections, but equally applicable to the example below)
- Invade the Strongholds
- Liberate the Captives
Example: America’s inner cities are strongholds of Socialist power through enslavement of individuals and families to multi-generational government dependency. People whom God created in His image are reduced to the status of “cash cows” to perpetuate seemingly unbreakable Socialist control.
The Black Robed Regiment – recruiting and partnering with inner-city pastors – can liberate the captives through facilitating and sponsoring Inner-City Entrepreneurialism: pursuing the vision of every inner-city home owned by its occupants, and every business lining the streets owned by their neighbors – whose wealth stays in the community as a foundation of strength instead of being siphoned away by predatory corporate franchises.
Flip One – Win Two. Every one person empowered by self-sufficiency is both a loss to the adversary, and a win for the church. As the vehicles for creating this change, the local churches broaden their influence and swell their membership rolls, while the “cash cow” income streams feeding the corrupt government agencies dry up and the armies of Socialist workers shrink and wither.
This is a program we can and should pursue immediately – and it is simple enough that every Black Robed Colonel and General can implement it with little or no additional input from HQ. Run with it! Don’t announce it to the media, just do it so that the program is up and running before the enemy knows you’re inside the walls.
REDEMPTIVE WEAPONRY
A Seven Point Battle Strategy for the Revolutionary Remnant Regiment
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for (2) pulling down strongholds, (3) casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, (1) bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. (4) Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. (5) Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: ‘Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.’ (6) On the contrary, ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ (7) Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” Romans 12:17-21.
The Seven Steps to Victory
(1) Discipline your mind to learn and follow the Biblical Worldview under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, confirming each thought, idea, hypothesis, conclusion by testing against the Bible.
(2) Set your mission objective high – pursuing the goal of utterly destroying even the most powerful enemy strongholds.
(3) Begin by discovering, exposing and debunking the lies that contradict God’s Word in your own mind and in the world around you.
(4) Diligently learn and master your understanding of God’s broadest universal values written on the hearts of all men, to win trust and rapport with everyone willing to share that common ground with you.
(5) Work to redeem each adversary by blessing them with the nourishment of love and truth, leading them from the broad universal values toward the purer love and truth of Jesus Christ.
(6) Purge yourself of the motive for revenge and fight to save the people from the snare of the Devil: pacify, disarm and convert the people, knowing each conversion is really a gain of two (minus one for the enemy, plus one for the good guys)
To summarize these points…
(7) Do not use the tactics of the world, which feed and spread the culture of death, but use the tactics of Christ which feed and spread the culture of life.

Dr. Lively on Thinking Like a Constitutionalist
To be a Constitutionalist is to think and act like the pro-active Founders, not like defensive Conservatives. And like Whole Bible Visionaries, not New Testament Myopics.
To be a Constitutionalist means separating and balancing church and state matters in the way we think and act – in the same way that God separated priests from kings as independent sovereigns over separate but cooperating spheres of authority in the world: the concept of “coadjuvancy” (the same concept implicit in our tripartite system of government: executive, legislative and judicial, inspired by Isaiah 33:22).
“Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s,” said Jesus.
The things of Caesar are the matters of the world: culture, politics, war, technology, human institutions – and the greater (but not exclusive) guidance in these matters is the Old Testament: something Donald Trump exemplifies today like a “square-peg” Judge of ancient pre-monarchic Israel that doesn’t fit in the “round hole” of Humanism-tainted 21st Century Evangelicalism.
The things of God are the matters of church life, and personal conduct: evangelism, discipleship, family life, doctrinal nuances — and the greater (but not exclusive) guide to these is the New Testament.
They are separate but not contradictory, balanced but not blended: two realms: the court of law and the court of equity, the Jesus of the whip of cords and the Jesus of the cradled lamb, the husbandry of masculinity, and the nest-keeping of femininity.
To be a Constitutionalist is to reject ALL the Classism and identity-politics of the Marxists and to recategorize people according to our own Biblical criteria. This will be very difficult for dyed-in-the-wool conservatives ensnared in the Marxist polarization-trap of jingoistic thinking.
We must always “love the sinner and hate the sin” by acknowledging – in our own minds and discussions amongst ourselves – the individual sovereignty of each person – separating the person from whatever identity group the Marxists want us to lump them with, and from whatever doctrines, dogmas, agendas and behavioral disorders they may have.
Equally importantly, we must reassess each person individually, and recategorize them based on their salvageability – and work diligently to redeem each person from whatever false thinking, behavior patterns or group self-identification they are enslaved to. Most of our adversaries – while dangerous – are dupes, not devils, and it is un-Christlike not to incorporate an objective evangelistic strategy in our response to them.
And we must pursue this goal like the Founders did – choosing the broadest possible common ground acceptable to God as the foundation for civil society, and preserving the greatest possible tolerance for differences within the concept of “ordered liberty.”
That is the message of the Declaration of Independence, which I have closely adapted as a pledge for the Revolutionary Remnant, above.
Who may sign this Declaration? Anyone whose mind and heart are aligned with the laws of nature and nature’s God! This prerequisite is
• the proper dividing line for separating Americans from Aliens at the most foundational philosophical level: those who recognize the natural order set by God vs those who deny God’s existence and invent counterfeit alternatives to everything He made.
• the theological premise of Genesis 1:1 to which our laws must realign – which, through restoration, would end the grossly unnatural abominations of abortion, sexual anarchy, transgenderism, transhumanism, fake science, fake morality, and the attacks on all our natural rights enumerated in the First Ten Amendments to the US Constitution (including gun rights, property rights, and every right nullified by the “Patriot” Act).
• the broadest possible consensus for a social contract acceptable to God, the reestablishment of which would make the pure refinements of the Gospel more discernable and alluring to the unsaved as the logical trajectory of minds clarified by truth in their presuppositions. As Paul said in Romans 2:14-15 “Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts either accusing or defending them.”
It is God’s natural law that undergirded the Declaration of Independence and Constitution and that unified the theologically diverse Founders on Biblical common-ground. To restore America, Constitutionalists must first embrace this truth with all of its implications.
